Getting Back to Normal

It's hard to believe that we will be celebrating Easter next weekend and the daffodils have already sprung up. I am grateful for warmth and also for the fact that things seem to be looking a bit more normal around Hopewell... other than our masks.

Our youth have been busy working in our community garden which is starting to take shape. The garden beds are being constructed and we have mulched in the entire area. Thank you, Vince, for the mulch! Next on our plans is to start filling the beds with soil and compost. My garage is currently full of seeds under grow lights; we will be ready to plant before much longer.

Youth group has been packed these past few weeks and we are grateful to spend time with your kids. We have been learning about Jesus' road to Jerusalem and His crucifixion. This week our middle and high school students will be creating backdrops for our Easter services and our Kid's Kirk kids will be creating their own crosses to take home while continuing to consider the death and resurrection of Christ.

On top of all of that, we have started our confirmation class. We have a special group of young people that are committed to diving deep into God's word and reflecting on what they believe and why they believe it. I have felt honored to spend the time with them and look forward to our weeks together.

If you have not been a part of our youth but would like to be, there is always something happening around here! Feel free to reach out and we can talk about how to get you and your children plugged into one of our programs.

Love to you, Sarah
